The Iwata W400LV-134G AK-1R Compliant 1.3mm Spray Gun Only (4860) is a high-performance, gravity-feed spray gun crafted for precise and efficient coating applications. Originally developed for automotive refinishing, its exceptional atomization and material transfer capabilities have also made it a preferred tool for muralists and fine artists. This non-HVLP conventional compliant spray gun is engineered to deliver fine, consistent finishes, particularly well-suited for clear-coating and base-coating operations.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:Compliant Design: Meets environmental regulations for transfer efficiency, reducing material waste and overspray.Precise Atomization: Utilizes Iwata’s LV Technology for fine material breakup at lower air pressures.High Transfer Efficiency: Ensures more paint reaches the surface, saving material and improving efficiency.Versatile Application: Ideal for automotive basecoats, clearcoats, and artistic detailing.Consistent Performance: The included AK-1R2 air regulator helps maintain stable air pressure for repeatable results.Optimized Spray Pattern: Features a unique “tulip-inspired” pattern for effective material deposition.Dual Air Caps: Includes both a fan pattern air cap for general spraying and a round pattern air cap for specialized or detail work.SPECIFICATIONS:Nozzle Size: 1.3mmWork Pressure: 20 psi (1.4 bar)Average Air Consumption: 10.5 CFMPattern Size: 250mmIncluded in purchase/shipment: Iwata W400LV-134G AK-1R Compliant 1.3mm Spray Gun, AK-1R2 Air Regulator, Fan Pattern Air Cap, Round Pattern Air Cap.HOW TO USE:Preparation: Ensure your air compressor is capable of supplying 10.5 CFM at 20 psi. Connect the AK-1R2 air regulator to your air line, then connect the regulator to the gun’s air inlet.Material Loading: Pour your prepared paint material into a compatible gravity-feed paint cup (sold separately) and attach it securely to the gun.Pressure Setting: Adjust your air compressor and the AK-1R2 air regulator to achieve a stable work pressure of 20 psi (1.4 bar) at the gun’s inlet when the trigger is pulled.Pattern Adjustment: Select either the fan or round pattern air cap based on your painting needs and securely attach it. Adjust the fan pattern control knob on the gun to achieve the desired spray width.Test Spray: Always perform a test spray on a piece of scrap material to verify the pattern, atomization, and fluid output before applying to your final surface. Make any necessary adjustments to fluid needle or fan control.Application: Maintain a consistent distance of approximately 150mm from the surface. Use smooth, overlapping passes, moving the gun parallel to the surface to achieve an even coat.Cleaning: After each use, thoroughly clean the spray gun by flushing it with appropriate cleaning solvents to prevent paint from drying inside, ensuring optimal performance for future use.BENEFITS OF USING IWATA W400LV-134G AK-1R COMPLIANT 1.3MM SPRAY GUN ONLY (4860):Achieves a high-quality, smooth finish on automotive surfaces and fine artwork.Reduces paint consumption and material costs due to superior transfer efficiency.Minimizes airborne overspray, contributing to a cleaner working environment.Offers versatile application for both broad coverage and detailed work with interchangeable air caps.Maintains consistent spray characteristics for predictable and repeatable results.Designed for straightforward cleaning and maintenance, extending product lifespan.Complies with environmental standards, promoting responsible material application.FEATURES:Stainless steel paint passage for material compatibility.Fixed double action trigger provides control over air and fluid.Replaceable Teflon needle packing for a durable seal.Pre-set needle adjustment for consistent operation.Integrated air pressure adjustment for fine-tuning performance.Fan pattern adjustment control for desired spray width.Cartridge-style air valve set for streamlined serviceability.”Tulip-inspired” spray pattern for efficient material delivery.
