This M7 air drill/driver features a planetary gear motor. The gears are mounted in a way that allows the center of one gear to revolve around the center of the other. This happens much in the same way planets rotate around the sun. (This is where the gearset gets its name.) This rotation pattern lets each gear’s pitch circles roll without slipping.
