Description

The Iwata LPH400-154LVB 1.5mm Fine Metallic Spray Gun Only (5710) is a high-performance, gravity feed HVLP spray gun specifically engineered to address the challenges of applying modern refinish paints containing fine metallic and pearls. Standard spray gun setups often struggle with these materials, leading to issues like mottling, blotching, streaking, or floating. This specialized spray gun provides superior control and consistency for these difficult applications, ensuring a smooth and even finish. Its design focuses on efficient material transfer and ease of use, making it a valuable tool for professional automotive painters seeking excellent results.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:Metallic Control Technology: Designed for superior application of fine metallic and pearl basecoats, significantly reducing common issues such as mottling, blotching, streaking, and floating for a more consistent finish.HVLP Efficiency: High Volume Low Pressure technology ensures high material transfer efficiency, leading to less overspray and notable savings on paint materials.Optimal Pattern Width: The 1.5mm nozzle produces a wide, uniform spray pattern of 13.2 inches, allowing for efficient coverage and reducing the number of passes required.Precise Atomization: Delivers fine atomization even at low operating pressures, which is crucial for achieving smooth and uniform metallic and pearl effects without texture issues.Gravity Feed Design: The top-mounted cup (sold separately) uses gravity to assist in paint flow, providing consistent material delivery and making it suitable for a wide range of viscosities.SPECIFICATIONS:Model Number: 5710 (Gun Only)Nozzle Size: 1.5 mmPattern Width: 13.2 inchesRecommended Atomizing Air Pressure: 14 PSIAir Consumption: 8.3 CFMFluid Output: 125 ml/minMax Working Air Inlet Pressure: 98 PSIAir Connection: 1/4″Fluid Connection: M16 x 1.5Weight (Gun Only): 0.84 lbsNoise Level: 69.4 dB(A)Included in Product When Purchased (Gun Only): The Iwata LPH400-154LVB (5710) is sold as the spray gun only. It does not include a paint cup or additional accessories unless specified by the retailer as part of a kit.HOW TO USE:Preparation: Ensure your air compressor can supply the required 8.3 CFM at 14 PSI. Connect a clean air hose to the gun’s 1/4″ air nipple. If you have purchased a separate fluid cup, securely attach it to the gun’s M16 x 1.5 fluid nipple.Cleaning: Before first use or after prolonged storage, flush the gun’s fluid passages with a compatible solvent to remove any rust preventative oil or debris.Paint Loading: Pour your prepared fine metallic or pearl refinish paint into a compatible gravity-feed paint cup (not included with this “gun only” model). Ensure the paint is mixed and filtered according to the paint manufacturer’s recommendations.Initial Setup & Testing: Set the air regulator on your air supply to approximately 14 PSI at the gun inlet with the trigger fully pulled and pattern/fluid adjustments fully open. On a test panel, practice spraying and adjust the fluid output and pattern width to achieve your desired finish. The optimal spray distance is typically 4 to 8 inches (100-200mm) from the workpiece.Application: Hold the spray gun perpendicular to the surface being painted, maintaining a consistent distance. Move the gun in straight, overlapping passes. Avoid arcing the gun, as this can lead to uneven application.Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, pour any remaining paint back into its container. Clean the paint passages and air cap by spraying a small amount of compatible thinner through the gun. Disassemble the air cap and fluid nozzle for thorough cleaning with a brush and cleaning solvent. Ensure all paint residues are removed to prevent future pattern issues.BENEFITS OF USING IWATA LPH400-154LVB 1.5MM FINE METALLIC SPRAY GUN ONLY (5710):Specifically calibrated for challenging fine metallic and pearl automotive basecoats.Minimizes common paint application defects, leading to superior finish quality.Reduces material consumption due to high transfer efficiency, saving on paint costs.Provides consistent spray patterns for uniform coverage.Designed for straightforward cleaning and maintenance.FEATURES:Purple air cap, distinguishing its specialized “METALLIC CONTROL” design.HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) atomization for reduced overspray.Gravity feed configuration for stable paint flow.Patented LV Technology with a split nozzle for efficient material use.Minimal internal wear parts for straightforward servicing.Smooth, polished exterior surfaces for easy cleaning.Ergonomic design for comfortable handling during extended use.Precision-machined air and fluid passages.Compatible with a wide range of automotive refinish materials.
